The Present Crisis

Sri Lanka has a long history. It is fairly well documented and most of us are having a fair knowledge of it. The history of Sri Lanka portrays one of the most sophisticated contemporary civilizations of the world. The ancient social order, arts, irrigation systems, laws, trading; architecture, régimes, diplomatic relations etc had been among the most developed in the contemporary world. Exodus of people from place to place, régimes of different rulers, wars among different races, efforts for genocides, betrayals, famines, pestilences, prosperity and periods of peace had all been part of our history. These are common and similar for almost every civilization existed on this earth.

Assessing Literacy Behavior

Each district prefers various forms of formal assessments to administer. Overall the purpose of administering norm referenced tests and other forms of formal assessments are the results. The outcomes can offer distinctive data about individual students and aid in classifying students according to abilities and areas of weakness. When employed as intended, such batteries can be a useful supplement to teacher observations and serve as a beginning point for monitoring year-to-year student development.

I am a third grade teacher at private elementary school in New York City. We are presently utilizing the ITBS (Iowa Test of Basic Abilities Tests) to formally assess our students. Students in grades initial by way of eighth take the test annually. The test is given for a period of six days in the middle of March. My school received the grades in Might and will be distributing the grades to the parents the last week in June.

Volunteer With African Hope Foundation Which Aids in Hiv Education in Ghana

AHFOG presently runs an all girls vocational institute which is in require of volunteers to teach academics (English, math, company, health and hygiene) to the students. Volunteers can also assist in giving HIV/AIDS education presentations to the commercial sex workers, individuals living with HIV/AIDS, or schools groups. Administratively, volunteers could assist with office duties, promotional materials, and updating information for the web site. Volunteers can assist by doing following tasks:- Teaching at the Gisela Wurth-Boahen Vocational Institute (girls ages 14-25) in basic academics: English, Math, Business, Science, etc. Property-based visitation of HIV Patients. Facilitating in Peer education and Public education on HIV/AIDS (to distinct vulnerable groups). Assisting in the office (typing proposals, creating promotional materials, etc.) Collecting statistics on HIV/AIDS & STI’s from hospitals or setting up a drop-in center for people who are HIV positive.
