Developmental programs have been in existence since the 1800′s and are important for our young individuals. There are early childhood developmental programs and there are developmental programs designed for high school students. The early childhood programs commence at around three months and go until the child is ready for kindergarten. The other is designed for older students who are normally between the ages of 14 to 18.
Some benefits of early childhood developmental programs are students who are more likely to do better in high school and go onto college. They are involved in much less crime and have the potential to earn much more than children who had been not involved in early developmental programs. It is also much less expensive to commence developmental programs early when the brain is still forming rather than later in life when retention is not as excellent.
The developmental programs that are developed for the older student are there to assist those students who are not academically ready for college. By taking these developmental programs either in high school or as a freshman in college the student will turn into a much better student and be able to complete college level classes. The goal of these developmental programs is for students to have the chance to go to college and make a greater life for themselves.
